Hi Ladies!!!
Nationals is just around the corner and I hope you all are making great strides in preparing for nationals! If you are feeling overwhelmed, underwhelmed, or not sure what you need to do to prepare, here are a few tips that may help you prepare for nationals.
1) Wardrobe – Do you have your gown, interview suit, and personality wear? If not, now is the perfect time to pick out the perfect wardrobe for all the required competitions and get them altered in time for nationals. I always write out what I’m wearing and what accessories to pair with it so I never forget to pack it.
2) Optionals – Have you decided what optionals you want to enter in? On the fence on a few? Remember to budget everything so you can still enjoy your time on pageant island and/or plan fundraisers to help you reach your goal. If deciding to enter in optionals: make sure you list out all the things you need to compete.
Photogenic – Pick your favorite headshot to enter.
Talent – Make sure your music is cut to the appropriate time frame to meet the time limit requirement. Be sure to PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE so you feel confident performing your piece at nationals.
Runway/Sportswear – Choose your top 3 outfits and practice walking in them to see what you feel most comfortable wearing and strutting the national stage in.
Spokesmodel – Do you have a platform you’re super passionate about? This is a perfect way to spread awareness. Write out your speech and record yourself so you can tweak your speech to make it perfect!
3) Build relationships – Reach out to your sister queens and get to know them before heading to nationals. If you have any questions about nationals, remember that all the national queens are here for you! We’ve been through it all and can answer your questions!
Don’t let time slip by you and start prepping! Nationals will be here before you know it, so be prepared and give yourself enough time to put everything together! Write a list of all the things you need to do so that you don’t forget it.
